Privacy Policy

Plumbot is designed to keep your planning data on your device wherever practical. This page explains what the app processes, where it is stored, and the controls available to you.

Last updated September 2, 2026

Information Plumbot processes

  • Public MapleStory character data: when you search for or track a character, Plumbot may retrieve the character name, job, level, experience, ranking, world, character image URL, and timestamps from Nexon's public services. Snapshot history may be retained in the Plumbot database so progression can be shown over time.
  • Device-local planning data: favorites, boss-mule plans, reviewed equipment, HEXA or Erda Link progress, and calculator settings are stored in your browser on your device unless a feature clearly says otherwise.
  • Discord interactions: when you use the Plumbot bot, Discord provides the command and inputs needed to return a response. Plumbot does not ask for your MapleStory or Nexon account password.

Equipment scanner recordings

The equipment scanner processes your selected recording inside your browser. The original video is not uploaded to a Plumbot server. See the Video Retention Policy for the exact recording and frame lifecycle.

Hosting and technical data

When Plumbot is hosted, its hosting and infrastructure providers may process standard technical information such as IP addresses, request timestamps, browser identifiers, and error logs to deliver and secure the service. Their handling of that information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Controlled beta data

During a controlled beta, Plumbot stores a random beta tester identifier in your browser. It may send one daily session event and the first visit to each major feature so the team can measure activation and return use. These events contain the random identifier and a feature category only; they do not include character names, search terms, calculator inputs, or URL query strings.

If you submit beta feedback, Plumbot sends the feedback text, page path, random identifier, category, and any Discord username you voluntarily enter to private team Discord channels. Those messages remain there until the team deletes them under Discord's available controls.

How information is used

Information is used to provide requested features, maintain progression history, respond to Discord commands, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, and improve Plumbot. Plumbot does not sell personal information or build advertising profiles from your activity.

Your controls

You can remove device-local data through the relevant Plumbot controls or by clearing this site's browser storage. To request removal of tracked server-side character history, open an issue in the project's GitHub repository and include the character name, but never include a password or private account credential.

Children and game ownership

Plumbot is not directed to children under 13. Plumbot is an independent fan-made toolkit and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nexon. MapleStory and related names and assets belong to their respective owners.

Policy changes

This policy may change as Plumbot adds features or moves to new hosting. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new last-updated date. Any future feature that uploads scanner recordings would require this policy and the Video Retention Policy to be updated before launch.
