Plumbot

Equipment scanner

Video Retention Policy

The scanner is built around local browser processing. Plumbot does not need a server copy of your recording to identify equipment.

The original video is not uploaded

When you select a recording, Plumbot opens that file locally in your browser and extracts frames there. The original recording is not uploaded to or stored on a Plumbot server under the current scanner design.

Temporary browser processing

The browser creates temporary object URLs to read and preview the selected file. Plumbot revokes those URLs after frame extraction, when the selected recording changes, or when the scanner view is closed. Decoded frames and OCR results may remain in browser memory while the current scan workspace is open and are discarded when that browser session or workspace is ended.

Saved results stay on the device

If you review and save scanned equipment, the resulting equipment data may be stored in your browser's local storage so it remains available on that device. Saved results are separate from the original video. You can remove them through Plumbot's controls or by clearing the site's browser data.

Diagnostics are user-controlled

Scanner diagnostic files are created only when you choose to export or download them. The downloaded copy is controlled by you and remains where your browser saves it unless you move or delete it.

No server retention period

Because Plumbot does not receive a server copy of the original recording, there is no server-side video retention period and no server recording to delete. If a future scanner version introduces video uploads, Plumbot will update this policy and provide the applicable retention and deletion controls before that feature is released.
